# Share Countdown

> Make a countdown. Share the link.

Share Countdown is a free website at https://sharecountdown.com/. A person picks a future date and time, an optional title of up to 48 characters, and one visual theme. The site returns a single link. Opening that link shows only the countdown: no form and no buttons. There is no account, no database, and no server-side storage. The date, title, and theme are encoded in the link.

## Use

- Create a countdown: https://sharecountdown.com/
- A shared countdown looks like: https://sharecountdown.com/#/c/<code>
- Older links of the form https://sharecountdown.com/#/c?t=<time>&m=<title>&s=<theme> still open.

## What the countdown does

- Until the chosen minute, it counts down. The last second is shown as 00:00:01.
- For the first minute after that time, it shows a large "Now".
- After that minute, it counts up from the moment, with a + before the time, and shows the scheduled date and time above the clock.
- While a shared countdown is the open, visible page, the site asks the device to keep the screen on. The screen can still sleep if the person leaves the page, locks the phone, or turns on Low Power Mode.

## Themes

Minimal, Cartoon, '90s, '70s, Synthwave, Terminal, 8-bit, Y2K, News, Neon, Brutalist, Party, LCD, Blueprint, Rainbow, USA, Orange, Christmas, Horror, Art deco.

## For agents

- The pages are a JavaScript app. The readable description of the product is this file, the HTML title and meta description, and the WebApplication structured data on the home page.
- Shared countdowns are personal links, not separate public pages. Do not invent a countdown that is not in the link the person opened.
- The site does not store countdowns, send email, or offer accounts.
